Job Title: CafeLeadPosition Summary:Sugarbird Cafe is seeking an experienced and dedicated CafeLead to oversee the operations and ensure the smooth functioning of our renowned afternoon tea cafe. As the Cafe lead, you will be responsible for maintaining exceptional customer service, overseeing afternoon tea service, retail operations that involve selling of scones, beverages, coffee preparation, and managing and execution of afternoon tea service with the team. Retail operation will involve preparation of gift boxes and inventory management, making sure the overall cleaning for the cafe. Your passion for creating delightful experiences, strong leadership skills, and attention to detail will be instrumental in maintaining the high standards and reputation of Sugarbird Cafe.Responsibilities:1. Retail: - Oversee the daily shift operations of Sugarbird Cafe with the Cafe team members, ensuring smooth and efficient functioning of day to day operations from opening and closing. - Coordinate with the team to maintain exceptional customer service standards, address customer inquiries, and resolve issues promptly.- Respond to customer inquries online and via text and report to the company management of daily sales, reservations for the next day for afternoon tea service. - Monitor and maintain inventory levels of tea, coffee, retail products, and gift items, ensuring sufficient stock and timely restocking with the team. - Collaborate with thebakery staff to ensure the timely delivery of freshly baked pastries, scones and catering orders that are being picked up at the cafe. Ordering of tea sandwiches, and other treats to operate a successful afternoon tea service.- Manage the reservations of afternoon tea service and properly place orders for service from the bakery team.2. Staff Management and Training: - Recruit, train, and supervise the Customer Service and Afternoon Tea Specialists, providing guidance and support. - Foster a positive work environment, promoting teamwork, professionalism, and high-quality service. - Conduct regular staff meetings, provide performance feedback, and address any performance or disciplinary issues. - Ensure that all staff members adhere to dress code, hygiene, health, and safety regulations.3. Customer Service: - Lead by example in providing exceptional customer service, addressing customer inquiries, and resolving any concerns and creating an afternoon tea experience that in line with Sugarbird philosphies. - Foster a customer-focused environment, ensuring that all customers have a memorable and delightful experience. - Promote sales by offering recommendations, upselling products, and maintaining strong relationships with customers.4. Beverage Preparation: - Oversee all beverage including tea and coffee preparation processes, ensuring that all beverages meet Sugarbird Cafe's high-quality standards. - Provide guidance and training to staff members on brewing techniques, flavors, and characteristics of various teas and coffees. - Monitor and maintain cleanliness and organization of the beverage preparation area, equipment, and utensils.5. Afternoon Tea Setup and Gift Box Preparations: - Ensure the proper setup and plating arrangement of afternoon tea sets, adhering to Sugarbird Cafe's visual and quality standards. - Coordinate with staff to oversee gift box preparations, including inventory management and tracking of gift items and retail products. - Maintain an attractive and organized retail display, ensuring proper pricing and rotation of merchandise.6. Financial Management: - Monitor daily sales, and implement strategies to maximize revenue and minimize costs. - Manage cash handling procedures, including cash register operations, deposits, and change funds. - Collaborate with the management team to develop and implement pricing strategies, promotions, and marketing initiatives.Qualifications:- Previous 2 years experience in a lead role within the hospitality or cafe industry.- Excellent leadership and organizational skills, with the ability to manage a diverse team effectively.- Strong customer service skills, with a focus on creating exceptional experiences for customers.- Knowledge and passion for tea, coffee, and understanding of brewing techniques and flavors.- Experience in inventory management, including tracking, restocking, and maintaining optimal stock levels.- Understanding of hygiene, health, and safety regulations in a food and beverage establishment.- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with staff, customers, and suppliers.- Flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment, including afternoon shifts and weekends.This position will require working onSaturday and Sunday 9-5pm shifts, plus opening and closing shifts during the week.If you have the drive to lead a team, create delightful experiences, and maintain the high standards of Sugarbird Cafe, we invite you to join us as the Cafe Lead.
